Il fondo USMF offre rendimenti corretti per il rischio potenzialmente più elevati tramite un’esposizione multifattoriale
WisdomTree, sponsor di exchange traded fund (“ETF”) ed exchange traded product (“ETP”), annuncia oggi il lancio del WisdomTree US Multifactor UCITS ETF su London Stock Exchange/Borsa Italiana. Il fondo intende replicare il prezzo e il rendimento del WisdomTree US Multifactor Index ed ha spese di gestione nette pari allo 0.30%.
Grazie al maggior numero di strategie smart beta disponibili, oggi gli investitori possono accedere ai singoli fattori associati a una performance storica in grado di battere il mercato a costi piuttosto contenuti. Tuttavia, per quanto individuare e scegliere le esposizioni fattoriali sia diventato molto più semplice, capire quale fattore potrebbe andare meglio nel tempo non è comunque più facile. Il vero vantaggio delle strategie multifattoriali risiede nella possibilità di diversificare le esposizioni sui fattori, così da mitigare il rischio di trovarsi investiti nel fattore che sta andando peggio nel momento meno opportuno, assicurando l’esposizione su tutti i fattori in ogni momento.
Christopher Gannatti, Responsabile della ricerca per WisdomTree in Europa, ha dichiarato: “Diversificazione vuol dire contenere al minimo il rischio di grave sovraperformance durante un dato periodo di tempo. Molti investitori nel segmento azionario USA hanno osservato con attenzione la sovraperformance delle strategie incentrate sul momentum negli ultimi anni. Anziché chiedere loro di decidere se intendono perseguire questa strategia o cercare di selezionare il prossimo fattore pronto a sovraperformare, l’approccio multi-fattoriale di WisdomTree garantisce una parziale sovraesposizione al momentum diversificando contemporaneamente la strategia su altri fattori che potrebbero sovraperformare in futuro”.
“Ogni componente del WisdomTree US Multifactor Index è sottoposta a screening per tutti i fattori con regolarità trimestrale e ciò contribuisce a garantire il mantenimento della diversificazione fattoriale. Il fondo rappresenta senz’altro una possibile soluzione per i clienti che non credono di poter ottenere valore aggiunto in portafoglio con una programmazione fattoriale a tempo e che non vogliono rischiare di trovarsi sovraponderati nel fattore sbagliato al momento sbagliato”, ci ha detto.
Portafoglio con un elevato active share
Rafi Aviav, Responsabile dello sviluppo prodotti per WisdomTree in Europa, ha dichiarato: “per quanto ci sia spazio per strategie multifattoriali che offrono un’esperienza vicina al mercato e cercano di mantenere un tracking error molto basso rispetto al proprio benchmark, il fondo USMF adotta un approccio differente. Costruisce un portafoglio con un active share e considerevoli esposizioni fattoriali ben bilanciate tra i fattori di rischio azionario principali. Il nostro elevato active share è ottenuto nonostante la neutralità settoriale della strategia che garantisce rendimenti in eccesso trainati esclusivamente e coerentemente dalla selezione titoli della strategia stessa”.
“Inoltre, le esposizioni fattoriali sono pronunciate e ben bilanciate fra i fattori di rischio principali, in opposizione a molte offerte che sovraccaricano i fattori value o momentum o hanno deboli esposizioni su tutti i fattori. Tutti questi elementi contribuiscono a rendere il valore aggiunto della strategia potente, trasparente ed efficiente dal punto di vista delle commissioni”.
“Crediamo che il fondo USMF rappresenti una necessaria ventata d’aria fresca nel mercato degli investimenti multifattoriali di oggi e siamo certi che gli investitori troveranno questo approccio interessante”, ha concluso.
US Multifactor UCITS ETF: cosa c’è sotto
La metodologia dell’indice WisdomTree US Multifactor prevede quanto segue:
- Punteggio fattoriale composito: l’universo di partenza di 800 titoli USA classificati per capitalizzazione di mercato ottiene dei punteggi in base a due fattori fondamentali (value e qualità) e due fattori tecnici (momentum e bassa correlazione). Ai titoli viene assegnato un punteggio fattoriale composito basato su questi quattro singoli punteggi fattoriali.
- Punteggio di volatilità: le prime 200 società con i punteggi multifattoriali compositi più elevati sono incluse nell’indice e viene loro assegnato un punteggio di volatilità basato su un periodo trailing di 12 mesi che premia i titoli meno volatili con i punteggi più alti.
- Sistema di ponderazione corretta per il rischio: i singoli titoli sono ponderati all’interno dell’indice tramite una combinazione, ripartita equamente (50/50), del loro punteggio fattoriale composito e del punteggio di volatilità durante i 12 mesi precedenti.
- Ribilanciamento trimestrale: l’ETF è ribilanciato trimestralmente e la ponderazione massima di ogni singolo titolo al ribilanciamento ha un tetto massimo del 4%.
- Neutralità settoriale: inoltre, il fondo vincola le scommesse settoriali applicando la neutralità settoriale contro il mercato. Ciò comporta che la generazione di alpha provenga dal processo di selezione multifattoriale e non da ampie deviazioni settoriali rispetto all’universo delle ponderazioni sulla capitalizzazione di mercato.
