WisdomTree Launches Quantum Computing UCITS ETF
Tuesday 02nd September '25
WisdomTree, a global financial innovator, has today announced the launch of the WisdomTree Quantum Computing UCITS ETF (WQTM). The ETF provides investors with early access to the rapidly evolving and growing field of quantum computing.
The WisdomTree Quantum Computing UCITS ETF, listed today on SIX, Börse Xetra and Borsa Italiana, and will list on the London Stock Exchange on 3 September 2025. WQTM seeks to track the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the WisdomTree Classiq Quantum Computing UCITS Index (the "Index"), with a total expense ratio (TER) of 0.50%.
Quantum computing2 represents a revolutionary shift in information processing, harnessing the principles of quantum mechanics to perform calculations at speeds and scale far beyond the capabilities of classical computers. As this once-theoretical concept moves toward commercial viability, quantum computing is expected to bring transformational change across industries – from drug discovery, climate modelling, and artificial intelligence to materials science and cybersecurity.
A gateway to groundbreaking innovation
The ETF is designed to provide diversified exposure to companies operating across the quantum computing ecosystem, including:
- Quantum chip and qubit technology providers
- Quantum software and algorithm developers
- Quantum-as-a-Service platforms
- Quantum networking and communication firms
- Providers of post-quantum cryptography
- Suppliers of advanced computing infrastructure, semiconductors, and specialised materials
Pierre Debru, Head of Research, Europe, WisdomTree, said: “As demand for computational power surges globally, quantum computing offers the potential to solve problems previously thought intractable. Quantum computing is on the cusp of becoming commercially viable, and we believe this moment marks a significant inflection point. With the WisdomTree Quantum Computing UCITS ETF, we’re offering investors a thoughtfully constructed vehicle to access the growth potential of what may be one of the most revolutionary technological frontiers of our time.”
Working alongside Classiq, a leader in quantum software, WisdomTree has developed a robust methodology for identifying key players in this space. Each eligible company is assessed through a Relevancy Score, which reflects the relevancy and significance of its involvement in quantum computing, and a Purity Classification, which categorises the company as ‘Pure’ or ‘Diversified’ based on the business focus or, where applicable, the concentration of its revenue derived from quantum computing activities. This assessment then determines each eligible company’s weighting in the ETF.
Alexis Marinof, CEO, Europe, WisdomTree, added: “Since 2018, investors have turned to WisdomTree’s thematic UCITS ETFs for pure and targeted exposure to megatrends, underpinned by a research and expert-driven approach. With over $5bn in assets under management across our thematic ETF range, we focus on delivering strategies that provide both clarity of theme and long-term relevance. This ETF combines our deep thematic research with Classiq’s domain expertise, with the result being a differentiated strategy that captures both the purity and breadth of the quantum ecosystem.”

2 Quantum computing refers to a paradigm shift in information processing, using quantum bits (qubits) that, unlike classical bits which are either 0 or 1, can exist in both states simultaneously
