CPD Event: Access a new world of investing with ETF's

Friday 22nd January '16

Join ETF specialists from First Trust, Lyxor, Raymond James, SCM Private and WisdomTree, who will come together in January to bring you a fresh insight into the ETF industry.

Learn more about risk management and diversification using ETFs and how to identify which ETFs are right for your client's portfolio, and find out how smart beta indexing has changed the ETF industry. You will also learn how, using ETFs, you can develop and differentiate your investment proposition.

Following the morning seminar and lunch at the WMA, we do hope you will join us at the Honourable Artillery Company, next door to the WMA, where the London Skolars will host Wigan Warriors XIII in the Capital Challenge match. The match will kick off at 2.00pm. As an attendee of the ETF Seminar, you will be given complimentary entrance to the rugby as a guest of Wisdom Tree, Raymond James, SCM Private, Lyxor and First Trust.

Navigating global markets using ETFs
James Waterworth, Lyxor
Previously limited within the confines of institutions and high net worth individuals, access to global, diversified portfolios is now open to all. In this presentation, Lyxor talks you through the range of investment opportunities available with ETFs. With a quick introduction to each asset class and some illustrations on ETF selection, we aim to build your confidence when it comes to ETF investing.

How to develop a compelling investment proposition
David Hazelton, Raymond James Investment Services
With the top 10 funds accounting for more than 20% of asset flows, how can you develop an investment proposition that will differentiate you from your peers? This session will help you to develop, document and manage a compelling investment proposition that provides superior returns to your clients.

Smart, Contrarian, Modern Investing
Alan Miller, SCM Private
Alan will discuss the data behind the active/passive debate, why he concentrates on asset allocation – even though he was one of the most successful stock pickers, SCM’s key investment criteria, risk management, how diversification can reduce risk, the screening and ETF Filtering process and Performance Track Record.

De-coding Smart Beta/Income ETFs and why investors should care
Viktor Nossek - Director of Research, WisdomTree Europe
It's rare not to hear the phrase 'Smart Beta' discussed alongside Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) at industry conferences or in the financial press. This is not surprising given there are approximately 200 smart beta ETFs listed within Europe. There are many myths surrounding smart beta and in this seminar we will demystify these myths by highlighting how WisdomTree’s Income strategies work, and how to get significant returns with a dividend and currency hedged approach.
